Music Memories

We love how music has this way of transforming a moment from mundane to magical. Listening to music is enlivening, and it aligns us with the rhythm of all creation. Music not only brings us together, but it can carry a multitude of personal stories.

There has been a ton of research on how music effects the memory. Studies show that music played at least 60 beats per minute activates both the left and right sides of the brain. Being more creative, the right side of the brain engages with the sound itself, while the left side of the brain measures the sound waves. Listening to music can improve athletic performance and reduce stress. Overall it makes the brain more capable of processing information. More research concludes that music that positively impacts the emotions and induces happy hormones such as dopamine can enhance our ability to form memories.
